Carl F is a recycling plant located in Malmö, Sweden, which has built Sweden’s first recycling system that uses robots for sorting out waste. The ZenRobotics robot hands are operational 24/7 and use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to function.
Carl-Fredrik Jönsson is the Operational Manager at Carl F and is simply fascinated by the automated waste sorting solution ZenRobotics has been able to offer them.
– Carl F is a waste company: we collect, sort and recycle waste. The materials come to us mixed, but with the ZenRobotics system we can pick from 250 different waste kinds, which materials we want to recycle at the moment, Jönsson explains.
Carl F has been using two ZenRobotics robot hands since 2017 and decided to add a third hand in the summer of 2019 to boost their sorting efficiency. Jönsson is excited about the possibilities it offers them, as their employees don’t need to do the work manually in harsh conditions anymore.
– I haven’t seen this kind of a solution on the market before. For us the possibility to choose from hundreds of different kinds of materials to recycle is simply amazing, he continues.
Since Carl F started to use AI robot hands to sort the waste, they have the option to remotely control the system.
– Even when I’m sitting at home on my couch, I can monitor and operate the AI robot hands remotely. The process is super simple also on-site: We only need to push one button and it works, Jönsson concludes with a smile on his face.
